Isn’t the answer obvious? Universities are about attaining, preserving and disseminating knowledge—which only is knowledge insofar as it is true. Caring about the truth is what universities—through their members—do.
The question as intended, however, concerns claims of fact that are appealed to as grounds for governments to go to war or to engage in other kinds of hostilities such as sanctions, blockades, coups and military interventions.Read More »

After the New York Times confirmed that a truck carrying “humanitarian aid” was burned by opposition thugs – not Venezuelan security forces – someone alerted me that this unusual favor offered by the corporate press, publishing a well known fact, was a way to develop legitimacy around the issue of Venezuela and that I should be ready for the next lie that would not be long in coming.
Two weeks did not pass before this prediction was borne out. Sunday, March 17, the Timespublished a report accusing the Venezuelan government, with the complicity of Cuban doctors working there, of using food and medicine to pressure citizens prior to the 2018 Presidential elections, warning people that they would not receive subsidies or treatment if they did not vote for Maduro.Read More »

CNN, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Fox, the NYTimes, the WaPo, the Wall Street Journal, the coterie of vassal media in subimperialist nations, fellow whore media like The Economist, the (UK) Guardian, and so on…and let’s not forget the deformations constantly introduced by supposedly comedy shows, like Bill Maher’s, which has gone full on zioimperialist, or Steven Colbert, always a dependable conduit for the Democrats’ lies du jour. The list is indeed long of those engaged in disinforming the public 24/7, all of them existing and operating chiefly for the benefit of their masters, the 0.00001% that owns everything worth owning in this world, and which continues to accumulate wealth in horrific ways to the deathly detriment of at least 4/5 of humanity. The harm done by these sanctimonious media whores is incalculable. When humanity awakens, it will be a huge miscarriage of justice to simply forgive and forget what they did in these troubled times, how they abetted and helped to engineer the most heinous crimes of the empire. Nazi propagandist Julius Streicher, whom we hanged at Nuremberg, was a piker when compared to these guys’ rap sheet.Read More »

For decades, the former colonial powers have written the history of the night in which the second UN Secretary-General and his companions died in a plane crash in Zambia. But a new history is about to be written if the recent momentum to find the full truth is anything to go by.
Fifty-five years ago, shortly after midnight on 18 September 1961, an aircraft crashed on its approach to Ndola airport in the British colony of Northern Rhodesia, which is now Zambia. On board were 16 people: the UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld, the members of his mission, and the Swedish crew. The sole survivor, who spoke of “sparks in the sky” and said the plane “blew up”, died six days later.
